Brain – Meningioma

T1-weighted MRI

High resolution (HR) T1W sagittal images  which shows the well-defined rounded mass which appears to be “shelled out” from the brain parenchyma. This appearance is  secondary to the mass effect by the tumour on the brain parenchyma with cerebral sulcal effacement. This mass is isointense (similar signal intensity) to the cerebral cortex. The thin curvilinear hypointensities within this mass  are likely related to traversing vessels.

Gross Pathology

3D Reconstruction

Volume rendered 3D images obtained from the HR T1W images which shows the well-defined rounded mass which appears to be “shelled out” from the brain parenchyma. This appearance is  secondary to the mass effect by the tumour on the brain parenchyma.
