This is a cut section of a thyroid lobe. Cut surface shows replacement of one lobe by a large, tan, firm, fleshy nodule with invasive borders. A remnant capsule is just visible at the inferior and left side of the section. The nodule shows cystic degeneration and some necrosis. No haemorrhage is seen.
