50 year old woman complained of right lower abdominal discomfort. Physical examination revealed the presence of ascites.
There is a multiloculated ovarian cyst. Some locules are filled with abundant fleshy, papillary structures.
The tumour has invaded through the cyst capsule and is seen on the serosal surface, indicating a higher disease stage. Some of the locules contain haemorrhagic fluid. The largest locule would have been filled with thin serous fluid.
