78 year old man with right upper quadrant discomfort, malaise, anorexia and weight loss. He also shows signs and symptoms of obstructive jaundice.
The right lobe of the liver is replaced by a fleshy, tan-coloured, ill-defined mass with areas of necrosis. The mass has infiltrative margins and extends to the hilar region. The uninvolved liver parenchyma (seen at the top part of this specimen) is non-cirrhotic.
