48 year old woman complained of left lower abdominal discomfort associated with a pelvic mass.
There is a large loculated ovarian cyst with intact capsule. Cut surface shows a sponge-like, multicystic appearance with delicate septa and the presence of mucin within the spaces. At the lower aspect of the cystic mass, some papillary excrescences and more solid areas are seen. These are likely to represent areas harboring malignancy.
