56 year old man with gastrectomy for primary gastric adenocarcinoma 11 months earlier. Follow-up imaging studies revealed multiple nodules in the liver.
The liver is enlarged. The capsular surface shows multiple nodules with central umbilication (indentation).
Cut surface shows multiple unencapsulated, pale, fleshy nodules of variable size, some of which have coalesced into larger masses (right lobe). The nodules show central necrosis. The residual intervening liver parenchyma appears unremarkable without evidence of cirrhosis.
